In December of 2018 the SPHSS obtained property within walking distance of the Dawson Creek & District Hospital, close to public transportation and amenities. Known as the ‘Bulterys Community House,’ it provides affordable accommodations for patients, whether it be overnight or for a longer period of time. The last thing anyone should have to worry about is affording a place to rest when they are receiving medical care, the SPHSS board recognized this was a worry and has worked towards where we are today. 

The South Peace Health Services Society is focused on improving health care services in our community by supporting recruitment and retention efforts for healthcare professionals from nurses who stay in the society's carriage house on the Bulterys House property, and visiting physicians and specialists who utilize the Locum House.

We know the importance of retaining existing medical professionals, and host appreciation events to thank doctors, nurses and other medical prcofessionals who provide the care we will all need from time to time.
